Kupp hails from Yakima, Washington, located about 150 miles southeast of Seattle. He also played collegiate football at Eastern Washington, and was selected in the third round of the 2017 NFL Draft by the Rams.
His tenure with the Rams was marked by impressive accomplishments, including leading the team in the 2021 season, achieving the elusive ‘triple crown,’ and ultimately being named the MVP of Super Bowl LVI.
Although the Rams decided to part ways with Kupp, they struggled to find a trade partner for the 31-year-old wide receiver, leading him to enter free agency.
In a heartfelt message to his LA fans, Kupp expressed, “That is what makes the ending of these last eight years so difficult. It’s the ending of something we have enjoyed building with you. Thank you for these shared moments. Thank you LA for welcoming my family with open arms and allowing us to grow here. Next chapter starts now. Best is yet to come,” via his post on X.

This acquisition marks a significant move for the Seahawks, who faced challenges in the wide receiver department following the departures of longtime WRs Tyler Lockett (released) and DK Metcalf (traded).
Now joining the team, Kupp will pair with up-and-coming star WR Jaxon Smith-Njigba, who made an impressive showing in his second NFL season, recording 1,130 yards and six receiving touchdowns.
The dynamic duo will catch passes from recently signed quarterback Sam Darnold, who has just agreed to a lucrative three-year/$100.5 million deal with the Seahawks.
Throughout his NFL journey, Kupp has accumulated an impressive 634 catches for 7,776 receiving yards and 57 touchdowns.
