LeBron James, the prominent basketball player from the Los Angeles Lakers, is known for recognizing rising stars, recently gifted Shedeur Sanders, the quarterback from Colorado Buffaloes, a pair of autographed shoes.

This gesture came after Sanders requested signed shoes and a jersey from James following the Lakers’ season opener against the Denver Nuggets on Oct. 24.

In the video above, Sanders proudly displays the items:

  • A pair of Lakers-themed shoes with a red Nike “swoosh.”
  • A yellow jersey with purple text, also autographed by James and specifically dedicated to Shedeur.

At one moment in the video, there’s a light-hearted comment suggesting that Travis Hunter, a safety, and wide receiver for the Buffaloes, forged James’ signature, prompting a teammate to humorously respond, “You guys need God.”

This generous act follows James’ participation in his 20th All-Star game, during which he sported the Nike LeBron 21 Air Diamond Turf Max shoes creatively designed to pay tribute to Shedeur’s father and coach, Deion Sanders.

James, along with DJ Khaled, Rick Ross, and Lil Wayne, received a pair of the Sanders-inspired Diamond Turf 3s. Only 1,500 of these shoes were made available initially, but considering the upcoming busy weekend and the Buffaloes’ spring game on April 27, there’s a possibility of a re-release.

While Shedeur is gearing up to play for the Buffaloes this season and his father, Deion, will continue coaching at the university, James remains an influential figure in the sports world.

“I am a Laker, and I’ve been very happy being a Laker the last six years, and hopefully it stays that way,” James expressed. “I don’t have the answer to how long it will be or what uniform I’ll be wearing. Hopefully, it is with the Lakers. It’s a great organization with so many greats. We’ll see. I don’t know how it’s going to end, but it’s coming. It’s coming, for sure.”

Buffaloes had a 4-8 season last year after a strong start of 3-0 by defeating TCU, Nebraska, and Colorado State.

Shedeur was sidelined for the final game of the season due to multiple injuries, having been sacked around 50 times throughout the season.
