A rising NFC contender appears to be a team to watch in the upcoming free agency pursuit of Tee Higgins.

Higgins and the Cincinnati Bengals couldn’t come to terms on a new contract leading into the 2023 season, which is the final year of his rookie deal. With the Bengals typically being budget-conscious under owner Mike Brown, it seems likely that Higgins will become a free agent for the first time in his career.

According to a former NFL executive interviewed by Evan Massey of NFL Analysis Network, the Green Bay Packers seem prepared to make a big move in free agency, with Higgins being mentioned as a potential target:

“I think Green Bay is a fun one to keep an eye on. With Jordan Love, they have their guy, and they’re going to do everything in their power to put the pieces around him. They’re very happy with their wide receivers, but I actually think they’re strongly considering swinging big on a guy like Tee Higgins.”

The Packers already have a strong group of young pass-catchers surrounding Jordan Love, including Jayden Reed, Romeo Doubs, Christian Watson, Luke Musgrave, and Tucker Kraft. However, they could benefit from adding a proven star like Higgins, who has amassed two 1,000-yard seasons and 24 career touchdowns.

Green Bay typically doesn’t spend big in free agency, but they do have the cap space to bring in another dynamic playmaker or two to support Love. Therefore, it makes sense for them to explore the possibility of signing a player of Higgins’ caliber to bolster their already potent offense.
