Mattress Mack, a well-known figure, has had his fair share of ups and downs in the world of gambling, particularly when it comes to his favorite team, the Houston Astros. However, this year, he hit the jackpot by placing massive bets on the Astros to win the World Series.

Reports indicate that Mack confidently bet $10 million on the Astros to emerge victorious, with a staggering potential payout of $73 million. Following Houston’s triumph in five games, Mack wasted no time in claiming his winnings.

In a rather ostentatious display, the millionaire businessman was spotted leaving Las Vegas with a wheelbarrow filled with $10 million in cash.

According to the Las Vegas Review Journal, Mack made his way to the Caesars Sportsbook to collect a $30 million check before proceeding to the Aria to claim an additional $10 million in cash.

Quoting from the Las Vegas Review Journal:

Houston furniture store owner Jim “Mattress Mack” McIngvale returned to the city to retrieve $40 million of his staggering $72.6 million winnings from betting on the Houston Astros to clinch the World Series.

He was handed a $30 million check at Caesars Palace for his $3 million wager placed in May at 10-1 odds at Caesars Sportsbook.

After a meal at Caesars Palace, McIngvale proceeded to Aria to claim his $10 million winnings from a $2 million bet made in July at 5-1 odds at the BetMGM sportsbook at Bellagio.

Following a brief three-hour rest in his complimentary room, McIngvale visited the casino cage at 3 a.m. on Friday to lay claim to his $10 million – in physical cash.

He then headed to the airport, where he personally loaded the heaps of cash into a wheelbarrow and onto his private jet for the return journey to Houston.

Mack initially staked $3 million on the Astros winning the title at 10-to-1 odds back in May and progressively increased his bets, culminating in a total risk of $10 million.

Although Mack won’t get to keep all the money for himself, as he had promised customers at his furniture store double their money back if they spent over $3,000 and the Astros emerged victorious.

In the end, with his customers benefiting from the promise, Mack gaining considerable publicity, and some winnings left over from the $72.6 million, it appears to be a win-win situation for all parties involved.
