Former UCLA men’s basketball standout Jalen Hill has tragically passed away after reportedly being missing in Costa Rica. The details surrounding the circumstances of Hill’s passing are still scarce.

He was only 22 years old.

Hill’s family shared their thoughts on Instagram, expressing:
“We know Jalen has impacted the lives of many people. We also recognize the influence many of you had on him. As we navigate through this heartbreaking time, we kindly ask for space to mourn.”

Hill, a former forward and center, joined the UCLA Bruins in 2017 and played for three seasons before departing the team in 2021 due to struggles with anxiety and depression, as reported by the LA Times.

During his time with the team, the former four-star recruit participated in 77 games, averaging 6.5 points and 6.4 rebounds per game while shooting 54.6% from the field.
