On Wednesday night, the Tampa Bay Lightning continued their winning ways with a 5-3 victory over the Edmonton Oilers. Despite being outshot by the Oilers, the Lightning managed to take control of the game early by scoring four of the first five goals, securing their third consecutive win and staying close to the top of the Atlantic Division, just three points behind the Florida Panthers.

In a significant milestone, Corey Perry not only contributed to the win with an assist to Pat Maroon for the opening goal but also scored his 400th career goal during the game. Defenseman Mikhail Sergachev also played a key role with two assists, while Connor McDavid scored twice for the Oilers in a losing effort.

Meanwhile, the Colorado Avalanche bounced back from their previous loss by defeating the Detroit Red Wings 5-2 on the road. Gabriel Landeskog scored two goals, including the first and last goals of the game, and Cale Makar had two assists. This victory extended the Avalanche’s lead in the Central Division to 12 points and maintained their position as the top team in the NHL with 78 points.
