After a week off, the Washington Capitals might have been a bit rusty facing the stellar goaltending of Igor Shesterkin. Shesterkin’s exceptional performance saw the Capitals lose 4-1 to the New York Rangers. Shesterkin made 36 saves throughout the game, showcasing his skill.

Alexis Lafreniere and Mika Zibanejad played key roles for the Rangers, each contributing with a goal and an assist in a comfortable victory. On another front, the Calgary Flames’ ten-game winning streak was halted by the Vancouver Canucks, who triumphed 7-1 at home. Vancouver took control in the second period by scoring five goals.

JT Miller was a constant threat to the Flames, scoring twice and assisting on two goals. Elias Pettersson also played a significant role with two goals and an assist, while Bo Horvat added two goals in the Canucks’ dominating win. Despite the victory, Vancouver is currently three points away from a playoff spot, indicating there’s still work to be done.
