Antonio Brown’s abrupt departure during a game against the New York Jets resulted in his dismissal from the team, making it just one in a series of recent issues faced by the player.
Following his on-field meltdown, video footage of the incident at Metlife Stadium has been transformed into a non-fungible token (NFT) and is set to be auctioned on January 13th, as reported by TMZ. The NFT is anticipated to attract numerous bids, with a potential sale price reaching seven figures due to the widespread circulation of the viral video on social media.
The attorney representing Antonio Brown mentioned that the Tampa Bay Buccaneers terminated his contract after he missed a medical appointment outside regular business hours, referring to the action as a “surprise attack.”
In a detailed statement, Brown disclosed that an MRI conducted the previous Monday unveiled multiple injuries to his ankle, contradicting the team’s portrayal of his behavior as a mental health concern rather than a reaction to physical discomfort.
During the incident on the field, Brown stated, “I know we were losing to the Jets and that was frustrating for all of us. But I could not make football plays on that ankle.” He explained the sequence of events leading up to his departure, attributing it to feeling disrespected and being pressured to play despite his physical condition.
His departure was followed by a public statement from Bruce Arians, who claimed that Brown refused to rejoin the game because he wasn’t receiving the ball, prompting Arians to instruct Brown to leave the field.
Subsequently, Brown has refocused on his music career, which he has pursued alongside football for several years now.
