Brooks Koepka and Bryson DeChambeau gained attention in 2021 for their prolonged and hostile conflict. However, following efforts to mend their relationship, the two came together on Friday to participate in a televised match for ‘The Match’.

Koepka emerged victorious over DeChambeau with a score of 4 and 3 in a 12-hole game at Wynn Golf Club in Las Vegas. The event is a special televised event organized periodically to raise funds for charity. The decision for both players to compete in ‘The Match’ came after their attempts to reconcile before the Ryder Cup in September, in the hopes of aiding Team USA’s success.

Their match was the most recent in a series of televised competitions that have involved notable figures like Tiger Woods, Phil Mickelson, Tom Brady, Peyton Manning, Aaron Rogers, Charles Barkley, and Steph Curry. Mickelson and Barkley acted as commentators for the game between Koepka and DeChambeau.

Koepka secured the second hole with a birdie from a 15-foot putt, and furthered his lead with birdies on holes five and six. He extended his lead to three up, and then to four up after sinking another birdie on hole eight, where DeChambeau missed his shot. Before conceding the match, DeChambeau missed yet another birdie on the following hole.

“Not going to lie, I just wanted to spank you,” Koepka commented after DeChambeau acknowledged his defeat.
