Ed Orgeron has been behaving recklessly following his divorce.
Several factors contribute to Ed Orgeron’s upcoming departure from LSU after this season, as the university and the football coach finalized the terms of his exit on Sunday. Since clinching a national championship in January 2020, the Tigers have struggled with a 9-8 record and are quickly falling behind in the SEC West.
In addition to their on-field performance, concerns about Coach O’s conduct arose when The Athletic’s Brody Miller reported an incident where he allegedly flirted with the pregnant wife of an LSU official at a gas station.
Furthermore, WBRZ’s Matt Trent reported that Orgeron was spotted with “girlfriends” at LSU practices, leading to disruptions caused by their children participating in team drills.
One particular incident involved Coach O making advances toward a pregnant, married woman associated with an LSU official.
“The situation spiraled out of control when Orgeron approached a woman in athletic attire at a gas station. ‘Hey, you look like you work out,’ he reportedly said to her. ‘We could work out together.’ Despite her revealing that she was married and expecting, Orgeron callously responded, ‘Why does that matter?’
This woman happened to be the spouse of a prominent LSU official, leading to the disclosure of this incident to the LSU Board of Supervisors, a group of influential attorneys and business figures appointed by the governor to make crucial decisions for LSU, including Athletic Director Scott Woodward.”
Orgeron filed for divorce from his wife on February 26, citing that he and his wife Kelly have been living separately without reconciliation since that date.
After 23 years of marriage, Coach O appears to be embracing his newfound freedom and behaving as he pleases.
