Accusations of infidelity have surfaced as the long-standing marriage of Stephen Curry’s parents unravels, making waves in the NBA community.
Recent revelations in the ongoing saga include Dell Curry pointing fingers at his estranged wife for being the catalyst behind their marital breakdown. According to newly acquired documents by TMZ, the ex-NBA player claimed that Sonya was engaged in a secretive relationship with former 1988 NFL Draft pick, Steven Johnson.
In his divorce filings, Dell asserts that Sonya was romantically involved with Johnson while still married to him and deceitfully concealed her infidelities. He went further to claim that Sonya relocated to Tennessee to cohabit with Johnson and vehemently opposes any financial support to her in the form of alimony.
It has come to light that Dell and Johnson shared a camaraderie as close acquaintances before the latter became romantically entangled with Dell’s wife.
The trio, all alumni of Virginia Tech, had a history of attending college basketball games together.
Sonya initiated the divorce proceedings in June, marking the end of the Curry’s 33-year marriage. In a statement provided to PEOPLE, the former couple expressed their decision to part ways after a trial separation, emphasizing their commitment to their family’s well-being despite the emotional toll of the separation.
