The Houston Texans and Detroit Lions face an uphill battle and winning even a single game in 2021 would surpass expectations for them.

The Detroit Lions and Houston Texans find themselves as underdogs in all of their scheduled 17 games for the upcoming season following significant changes within their franchises. The Lions traded Matthew Stafford to the Los Angeles Rams and acquired Jared Goff, a former No. 1 pick and two-time Pro Bowler, in return.

The Houston Texans made headlines last season by trading DeAndre Hopkins, and are now dealing with their QB Deshaun Watson’s trade demands amid multiple sexual allegations that might keep him from playing in the upcoming season. The team may rely on Tyrod Taylor as their veteran QB and selected Davis Mills in the third round of the 2021 NFL Draft.

According to recent reports, both teams, the Lions and Texans, are currently not favored to win any of their games. The Chiefs, on the other hand, are favorites in 16 games and a Pick ‘Em at Baltimore in Week 2, the most in the NFL.

The Houston Texans have a slight chance of being the favorite in their Week 12 match against the Jets, with a one-point advantage. However, this line is subject to change. Moreover, they are expected to be double-digit underdogs in five games and are predicted to lose by a margin of a touchdown or more in 10 matches.

The Detroit Lions will kick off their 2021 season at home against the San Francisco 49ers, followed by a matchup against the NFC North rival Green Bay Packers on Monday Night Football in Week 2.
