Sam Ehlinger is generating mixed opinions as we approach the 2021 NFL draft. While some doubt his ability as an NFL quarterback, there are lingering concerns about his arm power and precision.
A recent video clip released on Saturday appears to address these uncertainties, showcasing Ehlinger’s impressive throw of a football across 77 yards directly into the waiting arms of a stationary target.
In response to skeptics, Bobby Stroupe, Ehlinger’s player development consultant, posted the video with a caption that read, “SaM EhLIngEr dOEsnt hAve A StROng aRm. 77 yards on a dime without putting the pedal all the way down. False narratives end on 3/11 at Texas pro day. Stay tuned.”
Throughout his tenure with the Texas Longhorns, Ehlinger boasted a 62.5 percent completion rate on 1,476 pass attempts. Additionally, he amassed 11,436 passing yards and 94 touchdowns, along with rushing for 1,903 yards and 33 scores.
ESPN’s Mel Kiper Jr. has placed Ehlinger as the 10th-best quarterback in the upcoming 2021 draft class.
