News emerged this week suggesting that the San Francisco 49ers are considering making a move for Minnesota Vikings quarterback Kirk Cousins. Rumors indicate that the 49ers have even put forward their current QB as part of the potential deal.
Vikings insider Chad Graff from The Athletic has offered insights into these trade speculations.
Graff shared his thoughts on Twitter, stating, “I believe San Fran is interested in Cousins, but I don’t think the Vikings are eager to part ways with him unless the deal is significantly beneficial to them.”
In the last season, Cousins put up impressive numbers, throwing for 4,265 yards and achieving a career-high of 35 touchdowns along with 13 interceptions. However, despite his performance, the Vikings closed the season with a 7-9 record.
On the other hand, Jimmy G faced challenges with injuries, which restricted him to just 6 games played. During this time, he accumulated 1,096 yards, seven touchdowns, and five interceptions.
Looking ahead to 2021, Cousins is set to earn a base salary of $21,000,000, with a cap hit of $31,000,000 and a dead cap value of $41,000,000, as reported by Spotrac.
