In an undisputed victory, Dustin Johnson claimed the title of this year’s Masters. The top-ranked golfer not only secured his first green jacket but also set a new Masters scoring record by surpassing the previous mark by two points.

At 36 years old, Johnson triumphed by a margin of five shots, with a remarkable total score of 20 under par over the four rounds, exceeding the previous record of 18. Im Sung-Jae and Cameron Smith shared the second position, trailing behind Johnson by five strokes. In order to challenge Johnson for the win, Sung-Jae and Smith would have needed to score five strokes better than him in the final round. However, they fell short of matching Johnson’s stellar performance, finishing at three under par each for a total score of 15.

Reflecting on his victory, Johnson expressed, “The Masters is, to me, the most significant tournament and the one I desired to win the most. I felt nervous throughout the day. I am extremely proud of how I stayed composed and closed out the golf tournament. This is a dream realized.”

Tiger Woods, who ended up in a tie for 38th place after a final round with four over par, had the honor of presenting the green jacket to Johnson. Woods praised Johnson, stating, “He is one of the pioneers in bringing athleticism to our sport. DJ demonstrates remarkable composure during challenging moments.”
