Following a second positive coronavirus test, the Atlanta Falcons have closed their training facility. Despite this development, the team’s upcoming match against the Minnesota Vikings is still set to proceed.

The initial positive case was defensive tackle Marlon Davidson, with the identity of the second individual remaining undisclosed. The detection of this second case prompted the Falcons to implement precautions, shifting all team activities to an online format.

In a released statement, the team emphasized, “This choice was made in collaboration with the NFL and medical experts. The well-being and safety of our team members are of utmost importance.”

This closure follows recent COVID-19 outbreaks within the Tennessee Titans and the New England Patriots. Additionally, on Wednesday, University of Alabama’s head coach Nick Saban and athletic director Greg Byrne tested positive just before their game against Georgia.

Raheem Morris faces a challenging start as the interim coach for the Falcons, stepping in after a series of five losses resulted in the dismissals of Dan Quinn and Thomas Dimitroff, with Morris taking over Quinn’s role.
