LeBron James has a history of voicing his opinions on political matters, and President Donald Trump has not shied away from criticizing him, as he did during a recent radio segment where he referred to the Los Angeles Lakers superstar as a ‘hater.’

James watched the Vice Presidential Debate between Senator Kamala Harris and Vice President Mike Pence and made headlines by humorously commenting on the fly that landed on Pence’s head during the debate.

In response to the debate, LeBron shared on his Instagram story a picture of Pence with the fly, accompanied by emojis, joking about the fly’s favorite destination.

During an interview on The Rush Limbaugh Show, Trump acknowledged James’ basketball skills but labeled him as a ‘hater’ due to his support for Democratic politicians and participation in activism.

Trump criticized James for being a spokesperson for the Democratic party, describing him as a ‘nasty spokesman.’ He also took a swipe at the NBA’s declining television ratings, attributing it to the league’s increased political involvement.

Despite his current criticism, Trump had previously praised LeBron in 2013 when he congratulated him on winning an ESPY award, calling him ‘a great guy.’
