Floyd Mayweather’s views on police brutality have evolved since 2016 when he initially supported the idea that “all lives matter” and suggested that compliance with authorities would create a better society.
However, in 2020, Mayweather’s perspective has shifted significantly.
During a conversation on Shannon Sharpe’s new podcast, Club Shay Shay, Mayweather discussed the deaths of George Floyd and Breonna Taylor and highlighted the need for substantial changes.
Mayweather emphasized the necessity for stricter penalties for law enforcement officers that would lead to improved relations between police and minority communities.
“We need to have different policies come in as far as these police officers. If there is something that is not done right, you guys get the death penalty or you guys get life without parole. If that happens, then guess what? Then, we going to get some different results. Then, this will stop.”
