Having disposed of Miami Heat, a title in the Eastern Conference is edging increasingly closer to the Boston Celtics. The win puts the Celtics within touching distance of the top position, sitting in third place behind the Milwaukee Bucks and Toronto Raptors.

Jaylen Brown took home 26 points for Boston, and Jayson Tatum raked in an additional 25, with Tatum leading the rebounds for Celtics on 14. The other standout performance of the game came from Miami’s Bam Adebayo, who took 27 points and 16 rebounds for Heat.

Celtics took a lead in the first quarter, rising over Heat 31-22. They pressed their lead in the second, though their points margin dropped by 5, scoring 32-28 in the second. In the third, the game drew even closer, finishing 26-24, but Boston remained ahead. But the back end of the game found Celtics lagging, with Heat flipping the tables to take the final quarter 32-28. When the scores were tallied up, Celtics won 117-106.

Miami still put on an impressive performance, taking a loss for only the second time in 12 games. In addition to Adebayo’s leading points score, Tyler Herro scored 22 points, Jimmy Butler brought in 17, and Duncan Robinson scored 13.

Boston led the rebounds with a total of 50, comparing to Miami’s 42.
