Vanessa Bryant has fired back at Los Angeles County Sheriff Alex Villanueva, who publicly challenged NBA star LeBron James to contribute to the reward money for information leading to the arrest of the suspect in the shooting of two deputies in Compton, California on Saturday.

Vanessa Bryant took to her Instagram Story to share posts featuring tweets and articles criticizing Villanueva and his department for leaking graphic photos after the tragic helicopter crash that claimed her husband, Kobe Bryant, their daughter Gianna, and seven others in January.

One tweet by @ElanMaree questioned the sheriff’s trust in the system, citing the mishandling of the Bryant helicopter crash scene and the sharing of graphic crash victim photos by his deputies, leading to a lawsuit filed by Vanessa Bryant against them.

The sheriff directly addressed LeBron James on Monday, urging him to match and double the reward money set for information on the deputies’ shooter. Villanueva commended James for his views on race relations and law enforcement but emphasized the importance of respecting all professions and valuing life.

While LeBron James is known for his outspoken advocacy on social issues and police misconduct, he has not yet commented on the Compton incident. In a previous statement, James expressed fear and concern as a Black individual in America, highlighting the ongoing challenges faced by Black men, women, and children.
