Rudy Gobert joined others in expressing disappointment over Kansas City Chiefs fans who were heard booing players during a moment of “unity” between the Kansas City Chiefs and the Houston Texans in the NFL opener on Thursday.
The center for the Utah Jazz took to Twitter to criticize the fans who were booing:
The Chiefs players were present on the field during the national anthem and a rendition of “Lift Every Voice and Sing.” Conversely, the Texans players were not on the field for either of these songs.
The song “Lift Every Voice and Sing” will be played before each game during the first week of the season as part of the NFL’s initiatives on social justice matters.
