An employee of the Washington Nationals has been fired for a troubling incident captured on video in a convenience store.
The Washington Nationals, winners of the World Series, have terminated Jazhiel Morel after a video showed him throwing hot coffee at a female employee in a convenience store.
ESPN MLB insider Jeff Passan posted the video on Twitter:
Morel is expected to surrender to authorities on Monday.

“The Washington Nationals have fired an employee for allegedly throwing two cups of hot coffee at a female convenience store worker in the Dominican Republic,” as per the team’s statement to ESPN on Saturday.
In a video shared on Twitter on Friday, Jazhiel Morel, who served as the Nationals’ academy administrator in Boca Chica, Dominican Republic, can be seen filling coffee cups, engaging in a verbal exchange with the cashier, and then hurling the coffee at her.”
Nationals General Manager Mike Rizzo issued a statement to ESPN.
“The Washington Nationals were made aware of this disturbing incident earlier today and promptly terminated the employee,” Rizzo stated. “Such behavior is intolerable within our organization.”
