The incident began when Athletics outfielder Ramon Laureano was hit by a pitch, leading to a confrontation with Houston Astros hitting coach Alex Cintron. Allegedly, Cintron made a disrespectful remark about Laureano’s mother, provoking Laureano to charge towards the Astros’ bench.
Laureano claimed to ESPN that Cintron “said something inappropriate about my mother in Spanish.”
However, through an Astros representative, Cintron denied making any comments regarding Laureano’s mother.
