Picking the #1 spot in the NFL draft brings immense expectations.
Joe Burrow clinched the top overall pick in the recent NFL Draft, and the heat is on as his contract specifics have been revealed.
Burrow’s rookie deal with the Cincinnati Bengals amounts to over $36 million for four years, including a fifth-year option.
Nearly $24 million of Burrow’s contract is designated as his signing bonus.
The NFL has maintained the same salary structure for rookies since the league introduced a fresh collective bargaining agreement back in 2011. Sam Bradford was the last #1 pick to enjoy the benefits of the previous agreement by securing a six-year, $78 million contract with the St. Louis Rams in 2010.
In addition to his contract news, Burrow is the frontrunner to secure the NFL’s Offensive Rookie of the Year award with enticing +215 odds.
