Spike Lee, a renowned writer and director who has won two Academy Awards, has made it clear that he will no longer be attending any Knicks games this season following a dispute with Madison Square Garden officials. In an interview with ESPN, Lee expressed his decision, stating “I’m done.”

A video surfaced online showing Lee engaged in a heated conversation with security personnel outside an elevator after attending the Knicks’ game against the Houston Rockets, which the Knicks won 125-123 in a close match. This incident led to speculation that Lee had been ejected from the game.

The Knicks promptly clarified the situation, with a spokesperson explaining that Lee had used the incorrect entrance. Lee, who claims to have used the employee entrance for over twenty years, was asked by the team to use the celebrity entrance located two blocks away.

Lee, who had already scanned his ticket, expressed concern that he might not be allowed back inside the building. He even made a reference to the ejection of his friend Charles Oakley from a Knicks game in 2017, saying, “Arrest me like my brother Charles Oakley,” to security personnel.

While the Knicks stated that Lee had a conversation with MSG executive producer James Dolan during halftime and that the issue was resolved, Lee denied this statement, alleging, “I’m being harassed by James Dolan and I don’t know why.” In response, the Knicks posted a blurry photo showing Lee and Dolan shaking hands at the game.
