Philip Rivers is set to embark on a new chapter in his football career by leaving the Los Angeles Chargers, marking the first time he will play for a different team in the NFL.
Following the announcement of his departure from the Chargers earlier this month, the quarterback’s future team is still uncertain, with several franchises reportedly showing interest in signing him.
Despite being an experienced player, Rivers believes he still has at least two more years of competitive football in him. One team that has emerged as a potential landing spot for him is the Indianapolis Colts.
The Colts, who had a challenging season dealing with the unexpected retirement of Andrew Luck, are currently without a definitive long-term quarterback solution.
According to sources within the NFL, there is speculation that the Colts are considering Rivers as a viable option for their QB position.
Reports circulating on social media suggest that the Colts’ offensive coordinator, Nick Sirianni, is actively pursuing Rivers to join the team in Indianapolis.
Sirianni, who previously worked for the Chargers from 2013 to 2017, including a stint as the team’s quarterbacks coach, is familiar with Rivers and may play a key role in recruiting him to the Colts.
