In a tragic event on Sunday, Kobe Bryant lost his life in a helicopter crash. The incident occurred at 10 am local time near Calabasas, about 30 miles northwest of Los Angeles.

The crash transpired in foggy conditions, and the helicopter’s impact caused wildfires, hindering rescue efforts. None of the nine individuals on board survived, including Bryant’s 13-year-old daughter.

Known for using helicopters to navigate through Los Angeles traffic, Bryant was en route to a basketball game at his academy with Gianna, his daughter, on that fateful Sunday.

Having enjoyed a illustrious 20-year career in basketball, Bryant achieved great success, securing gold medals in the 2008 and 2012 Olympics with Team USA. He held the title of the NBA’s third highest scorer of all time before being surpassed by LeBron James this year. Bryant retired in 2016.

The circumstances of the crash are currently under investigation by the Federal Aviation Administration and the National Transportation Safety Board.
