A woman has been charged with attempted murder after a confrontation that resulted in NFL player Terrelle Pryor being stabbed. Pryor, who sustained severe injuries, is also facing a separate assault charge.
The incident occurred in an apartment located in Pittsburgh’s North Side during the early hours of Saturday. Shayala Briston, 24, has been charged with aggravated assault and attempted murder for stabbing the NFL athlete. Pryor, aged 30, is also confronting an assault charge.
According to Pryor’s representatives, Vantage Management Group, Pryor’s family has been notified that he is expected to fully recover. Gregory Diulus from VMG mentioned that they plan to meet with Pryor on Sunday.
Pryor was highly regarded as one of the top young athletes during his high school years and showed promise when he joined the Buckeyes in 2008. With a successful career at Ohio State as a quarterback until 2011, Pryor later transitioned to become a wide receiver. Over the years, he played for 11 different NFL teams, most recently the Jacksonville Jaguars, before leaving the team in September due to a hamstring injury.
