This marks Nadal’s third appearance in a grand-slam final this year and his fifth time reaching the US Open final.
The match between Nadal and Berrettini lasted two hours and 34 minutes, a relatively short duration compared to some other intense matches. After an intense first set, the young Italian was quickly subdued by the world’s second-ranked player. Nadal emerged victorious with a dominant performance in the final set, concluding the match with a score of 7-6 6-4 6-1.
