Conor McGregor, known for his controversial reputation, recently found himself in hot water after a video emerged showing him allegedly punching a man in a Dublin bar. The incident occurred when the man reportedly declined a shot of McGregor’s whisky.
During an appearance on “The Jim Rome Show,” UFC president Dana White unequivocally confirmed the incident. “Not allegedly,” he stated, “It’s pretty clear.”
The assault incident occurred back in April at the Marble Arch pub, leading to an ongoing police investigation and McGregor now facing a minor assault charge.
The altercation started when McGregor ordered a bottle of his own brand of whisky, Proper Number Twelve. The man in question was seen moving glasses placed in front of him by McGregor on two occasions before the MMA fighter landed a left hook, being swiftly escorted out of the bar by two other individuals.
White commented, “You’re talking about a pub in Ireland. Know how many guys get punched in the face every day in a pub in Ireland?” He emphasized the scrutiny when he added, “But this is a high-profile guy… When you’re Conor McGregor, you can’t do it.”
McGregor’s last UFC fight was in October, where he was defeated by lightweight champion Khabib Nurmagomedov.
