Paris proposed the inclusion of these sports as a trial run for this prestigious event, with the final decision slated for December next year.
While skateboarding, surfing, and climbing are already on the roster for the 2020 Olympics, the 2024 Games would mark the debut of breakdancing in Olympic competition. Breakdancing made its international debut at the Summer Youth Olympic Games in Buenos Aires back in 2018.
In a bid to promote gender equality on a global scale, the Olympic governing bodies are introducing new sports to ensure balanced male and female representation in these competitions.
