The Missed Chance for the Pelicans

The New Orleans Pelicans had an opportunity to trade for Anthony Davis from the Los Angeles Lakers by giving up Brandon Ingram, Lonzo Ball, Josh Hart, and Kyle Kuzma.

The Pelicans were interested in the offer, valuing the potential talent of Brandon Ingram and the overall package. However, the trade fell through under the management of Dell Demps. Now, David Griffin and Trajan Langdon are in charge of the team.

David Griffin spoke highly of Brandon Ingram’s skills and recognized his growth as a young player at just 21 years old. Ingram’s playing style has drawn comparisons to top players like Kyrie Irving, which is promising given his early career stage.

Ingram faced a setback last season with a blood clot issue, affecting both his playing and health. He has taken the time needed to recover and is aiming for a successful upcoming season. Despite this obstacle, his career trajectory remains promising.

Looking back, the Pelicans missed a valuable opportunity to acquire a star player in Brandon Ingram, along with Hart, Ball, and Kuzma in exchange for keeping Anthony Davis.
