Brooks Koepka Secures an Impressive Win at the PGA Championship Leading from Start to Finish

Brooks Koepka made history at the PGA Championship by maintaining his lead throughout all four rounds of the tournament, a feat unseen since 1983. This victory marked his second consecutive win at the PGA Championship and his fourth major championship triumph in his last 8 attempts.

Heading into the final round at Bethpage Black with a commanding seven-stroke lead, Koepka faced a challenge as his lead narrowed to just one stroke after encountering four consecutive bogeys on holes 11 through 14. Close behind, Dustin Johnson also faltered with two bogeys in the last three holes, finishing the tournament at 6 under par. Nevertheless, Koepka managed to cling to his slim lead, ultimately winning the PGA Championship by two strokes with an impressive 8-under finish.

Reflecting on his performance, Koepka shared his relief at not having to play extra holes amidst challenging windy conditions and acknowledged Johnson’s strong play. Looking ahead, Koepka sets his sights on securing his third consecutive U.S. Open title at the upcoming major championship scheduled for June 13–16, 2019, at Pebble Beach Golf Links in Pebble Beach, California.
