Rob Gronkowski’s Unusual Use of the Lombardi Trophy as a Baseball Bat

Rob Gronkowski made a memorable exit from the New England Patriots by leaving a dent in the team’s sixth Lombardi trophy, using it as a baseball bat.

In a video shared on Twitter during the Boston Red Sox home opener celebration, Gronkowski’s teammates shared their experience with him. Gronk, along with Julian Edelman and Stephon Gilmore, were selected to throw the ceremonial first pitch. Before the game, the trio was warming up their arms.

During the warm-up, Gronkowski seized the Lombardi trophy playfully while Edelman was pitching and took a batter’s stance. When Edelman threw a pitch to Gronk, he mimicked a bunt and accidentally made contact with the trophy.
