Recently, Michigan State was climbing the ranks in college basketball, winning an impressive 13 games in a row even without their injured player Joshua Langford. However, the tide has turned, and the Spartans, under coach Tom Izzo, have now faced a string of losses.

It all started last Sunday when Michigan State suffered a defeat at the hands of a strong Purdue team on the road, which was understandable considering they were in the midst of a grueling schedule playing three games in just six days. Then, on Saturday, they faced another loss at home against Indiana.

Indiana, a team that had previously lost seven important games, managed to secure a victory against Michigan State even after losing one of their key players, Juwan Morgan, to an injury in the first half. This defeat has raised questions about what might be going wrong with Michigan State.

Observers have noted a significant decline in Michigan State’s defense in their recent games. The Spartans had not allowed an opponent to score a point on every possession in the past 11 games, but both Purdue and Indiana surpassed that mark. Purdue made an impressive 12 three-pointers, while Indiana scored 10 points from beyond the arc, showcasing Michigan State’s defensive struggles.
