Julia Mancuso empathizes with the struggles Lindsey Vonn and Andy Murray are facing post their hip surgeries. Having experienced similar challenges a year ago, Mancuso knows firsthand the difficulty of dealing with hip issues, which ultimately led her to retire from the Pyeongchang Winter Games despite being a four-time Olympic medalist.

Currently, it is Vonn who is grappling with hip problems like Mancuso did, signaling a potential end to her career. Vonn revealed that she has minimal cartilage left in her hips, causing bone-on-bone contact. Mancuso expressed that the premature end of an athlete’s career is unfair but sometimes unavoidable.

Mancuso underwent hip replacement surgery, acknowledging the courage it took to alleviate the pain and ensure a strong finish to her career. She believes that this experience has made her even stronger than she was a decade ago when she entered the professional arena.

Similarly, Andy Murray, the former world No. 1 tennis player, is confronting similar challenges after his hip surgery. Mancuso extended her support to Murray, acknowledging his efforts and determination to recover and come back stronger. Vonn, dealing with knee swelling and other health issues, faces a tough road ahead, something Mancuso recognizes as a significant ordeal.
