The University of California-Irvine retains its top position in the inaugural Top 25 College League of Legends Coaches Poll. This list, unveiled on Wednesday, is a comprehensive ranking based on input from coaches representing over 40 colleges in the United States and Canada. Notably, this ranking will be updated every other week, providing a dynamic view of team standings.

Riot Games, the creator of League of Legends, assisted in selecting professional coaches for the College League of Legends scene by providing valuable insights to aid in the initial rankings.

The current College League of Legends season features over 300 teams participating from January 7th to March 3rd. Regional playoffs will occur from March 4th to 31st, followed by quarterfinals scheduled between April 1st and 28th. The championship event is set to take place from May 23rd to 26th at the LCS Arena in Los Angeles, organized by Riot Games.

In the 2018 season, UC Irvine emerged victorious, securing the national title with a 3-0 victory over Columbia College. Despite their past success, UC Irvine ranks at number 3 in the 2019 preseason rankings. Other notable teams receiving votes include Washington with 36 votes, North Carolina State with 35 votes, Ohio State with 32 votes, Grand View University with 20 votes, Texas A&M with 16 votes, the University of Guelph with 15 votes, University of Manitoba with 13 votes, University of Toronto with 12 votes, and Ambrose University with 12 votes as well.
