The UFC’s 2019 schedule has already kicked off with a two-week offseason. Fans are cautioned not to get too comfortable, as the UFC has a whopping 20 events planned for the first part of 2019. A significant UFC Fight Night event featuring Dillashaw and Cejudo is set for January 19.

With a busy fight calendar, it’s safe to assume there will be many title fights as well. So, what will the UFC championship landscape look like at the end of the year? The men’s flyweight division has stirred some mixed feelings among fans.

Flyweights are generally favored due to the division’s depth, but some argue it lacks competition depth as Demetrious Johnson has dominated for an extended period. However, Johnson’s superiority shouldn’t be discounted—he’s just that good.

Moving to the men’s bantamweight, Dillashaw will start his 2019 title chase at flyweight then return to bantamweight. He is lined up to face Brazilian striker Marlon Moraes mid-year and Russian contender Petr Yan later in 2019.

In the men’s featherweight division, Holloway is eyeing a match against Frankie Edgar, a fight he has desired for some time. Later in 2019, he might step up to a high-profile 155-pound match. The UFC has no immediate plans to strip him of the featherweight title.
