Despite Britain’s previous win in the tie, courtesy of strong performances by Boulter and Cameron Norrie in mixed doubles, Williams is determined to clinch her third Hopman Cup title. The United States faced elimination after losing to Greece and Switzerland, led by Roger Federer.
Switzerland stands a good chance of reaching the final with a match against Greece. Meanwhile, the hosts Australia and favorites Germany are gearing up for a crucial clash in Group A action on Friday.
Returning to her first tournament since the U.S. Open Final in September, Williams aims to secure her 24th Grand Slam singles title in Melbourne.
