The fight between Gilberto Ramirez and Jesse Hart was highly anticipated and exciting. Ramirez managed to retain his WBO super middleweight title by defeating Hart in a closely contested 12-round majority decision in Corpus Christi, Texas, at the American Bank Center.

The judges scored the bout 115-113 in favor of Ramirez on two cards, while the third judge scored it a 114-114 draw. Ramirez had to dig deep in the 12th round to secure the victory and hold onto his title. Hart gained momentum in the middle rounds and had a strong finish in the last round.

Ramirez revealed that he had suffered an injury to his left elbow in the eighth round. Despite this setback, he was able to hurt Hart with his right hand in the final round, ultimately winning the round and retaining his middleweight championship.

The rematch on Friday was a repeat of their 2017 fight, which Ramirez also won by unanimous decision in a fierce battle. Ramirez mentioned that he believed he would defeat Hart again if they were to face off once more, even suggesting that he could have knocked Hart out if not for his injured elbow.

Ramirez downplayed the significance of his injury, emphasizing that he emerged victorious regardless of the challenges he faced. Despite the tough fight and injury, Ramirez remains confident in his abilities and his victory in the rematch against Hart.
