Inclement weather forced the cancellation of two Women’s Alpine World Cup ski races due to excessively hot conditions. Originally planned for France, the event will now take place in Italy.The International Ski Federation has unveiled a revised schedule, featuring six consecutive days of men’s and women’s World Cup races in nearby Val Gardena and Alta Badia from December 14th to 19th.

Due to a lack of snow at the women’s course in Val d’Isere, race organizers postponed the event until the following week. A downhill race is scheduled for December 18th in Val Gardena, followed by a super-G event on the same course the next day.

The last women’s World Cup race at Val Gardena dates back to 1975, per ski-db.com Alpine statistics archive. Additionally, the venue will host the men’s super-G on December 14th, along with the classic Saslong downhill event the next day.

On December 16th, Alta Badia will host the men’s giant slalom event, with another GS race set for the following day at the same venue. The lineup promises an exciting array of sports events, with great organization and a palpable sense of enthusiasm indicating a successful event ahead.
