Walker’s impactful play generated excitement within the Virginia Tech camp, fueling their performance throughout the game.

Following an opening field goal drive, Willis took charge and displayed exceptional passing accuracy. He connected with Hezekiah Grimsley for a 46-yard touchdown, Tre Turner for a 45-yard score, and Steven Peoples and Eric Kumah for 7-yard and 32-yard touchdowns, respectively. The Hokies surged ahead to a 31-6 lead before halftime, with Coach Justin Fuente emphasizing the significance of achieving their 26th consecutive bowl appearance.
