Norwegian skier Kjetil Jansrud’s recent super-G victory at Lake Louise sparked celebrations in the Norwegian camp. While the Americans were not as jubilant as their Norwegian counterparts, they recognized the potential for collaboration between the teams highlighted by Jansrud’s impressive performance.

Over the past few seasons, the two countries have joined forces for training, leveraging their unique strengths. The Americans offer vital tangible resources like top-notch training facilities and a higher number of coaches for athlete development. They also bring a playful training approach that enhances the process. On the other hand, the Norwegians contribute expertise, experience, and a strong commitment to excellence on the slopes. This partnership is united by a shared passion for speed.

American racer Travis Ganong mentioned that the Norwegians’ serious demeanor inspired them to push themselves harder. He noted that working alongside the Norwegians has helped the US team enhance their performance and expressed hope for mutual benefits. For the Norwegians, the collaboration grants access to the speed center of the US ski team in Copper Mountain, Colorado.

The Norwegian team is renowned for their rigorous training regime, treating every practice session as an opportunity to strive for excellence. Jansrud mentioned that their focused training approach might give the impression of being strict to the Americans. Nonetheless, the partnership activities are appreciated by both sides as they work together to achieve the common goal of speed.
