David Lemieux, a powerful middleweight boxer and former champion, will be headlining the under-card of Canelo Alvarez’s upcoming fight at Madison Square Garden in New York on December 15. This event marks a significant step towards a potential match-up with the Mexican boxing star.

Lemieux, with a record of 40 wins and 4 losses, including 34 knockouts, is coming off an impressive first-round knockout victory against Gary Spike O’Sullivan, setting the stage for a potential showdown with veteran boxer Tureano Johnson (20-2, 14KOs) in the co-main event. This event will also mark the debut of Alvarez on the sports streaming app DAZN.

The fight at Madison Square Garden will be a 12-round battle on the under-card of Canelo Alvarez’s super middleweight title fight. The event will also feature the return of Sadam Ali, who is set to face Mauricio Herrera in a 10-round bout. DAZN secured an exclusive five-year, $365 million deal for 11 fights.

Alvarez has agreed to move up in weight class to challenge Rocky Fielding from England for the secondary WBA super middleweight title in the main event. Golden Boy, Alvarez’s promoter, has signed a five-year deal to stream the fights on the app. Ali will be making his return to the welterweight division against former junior welterweight title challenger Herrera, who is on a two-fight winning streak.
