Miguel Roman & Miguel Berchelt promise a memorable showdown

Miguel Berchelt, Junior lightweight titleholder and challenger Miguel Roman pictured a similar take on how they imagine their showdown would seem like. The two did not even stand close to one another during the recent press event where they were being interviewed about the upcoming fight where they’ll be facing each other.

Berchelt did not know the comments what Roman had made when he had said that the match would without a doubt be a memorable one as two great Mexican players are playing in the ring. The fans, as well as the fighters, also have huge expectations for the moment when Berchelt will be playing against Roman in the Top Rank Boxing’s main event which is being held at Don Haskins Center, Texas.

It has been a while since Roman and Berchelt both have been gearing up for this upcoming fight between the two. The last and final hurdle shot in June this year. At the time, Berchelt had defeated former featherweight titleholder, Jonathan Victor Barros during the 3rd round. And, around the same time, Roman had won his 4th fight by defeating Michel Marcano during the 2nd round.

Now, both the top class players Roman and Berchelt are all set to face one another. Berchelt will fight in Roman’s hometown Ciudad Juarez, which is located right across the US-Mexico border from El Paso. Roman has an aim to be the first boxing titleholder in his hometown. Despite losing 12 matches, Roman is getting a chance to win a world title. In the year 2011, he had challenged Barros to fight for the featherweight title. However, he had lost due to a unanimous decision.

Later in the year 2012, he had suffered from a defeat in the 5th round while challenging Antonio DeMarco to win a lightweight title. Roman said that although he lost the previous title matches, he had less time to prepare for them as he accepted them in brief notice. However, the case is not the same in the match he has against Berchelt now.
