Detroit Lions have reportedly signed corner back Sterling Moore

The Detroit Lions have added depth for their secondary by signing cornerback Sterling Moore with a one year deal on Sunday, as per post put up made by the veteran player’s agent, David Canter on Twitter. The 28-year-old Moore has an experience/history with the Lions coach; Matt Patricia gave the fact that he has spent two seasons with the New England Patriots.

Moore remained undrafted since he came out of the SMU in the year 2011 and then flamed out in Oakland the same year. However, the Patriots later signed him to their practice session and promoted him in the 53 man roster around a week later. He played in 8 games in the year 2012 before getting released by the team. Patricia was looking after the Patriots defensive plays in both the seasons. The Lions signed him in February, and now, Moore is the latest entrant.

Moore has spent his past five years bouncing among teams, starting from Dallas to Tampa, with his recent one being New Orleans. He had his players in 75 games, with his best season being in the year 2016, when he began 12 games and racked up in 56 tackles, 13 passes and two interceptions for the Saints.

Moore will have to work to make it in the Lions roster in the coming two weeks. Darius Slay is all set at one cornerback post while on the other hand DeShawn Shead, Teez Tabor, and Nevin Lawson have raised a spirited battle for another job. Quandre Diggs and Jamal Agnew both have also been competing to make it to the slot. The news is yet to be officially announced by the Lions. Moore getting signed by the Lions is an interesting thing, given the team’s theoretical depth at the cornerback in the 2018 season, but Moore is a player who would add a little experience to the team.
