Jimmy Butler may have reached the point of no return in his effort to leave the Minnesota Timberwolves. The Timberwolves shooting guard will sit out inWednesday night’s game against the Utah Jazz.
According to The Athletic’s Shams Charania and Jon Krawczynsk, it could be the start of a planned extended absence. The team has listed Butler as out with “general soreness and precautionary rest,” but Butler reportedly told Coach Tom Thibodeau his plan to sit out.
Butler is 29, averaging 22.5 points, 5.3 rebounds and 3.3 assists per game this season and will be a free agent next summer.
