Authorities have confirmed that the former UFC fighter Stephan Bonnar is reported arrested by a suspicion of Driving Under Influence after he was allegedly found driving his car recklessly on a freeway of Las Vegas.
Officials of the Nevada Highway Patrol have stated that Bonnar, on Sunday, was booked into the Clark County Detention Center on Driving Under Influence charge which is the third offence. Bonnar also resisted an officer along with traffic offences.
On Monday things sought out to quite unsettling when the authorities have found out that the former 41-year-old UFC fighter has a lawyer.
The officials of Highway Patrol have told that their dispatch centre has received multiple calls regarding a speeding Cadillac that has made the lanes unsafe on the Interstate 15 on Sunday around 1:15 p.m.
The Cadillac was found along the highway around 10 miles north of a Las Vegas Strip.
The state trooper who arrested and handcuffed Bonnar smelled had reportedly smelled alcohol on the former UFC fighter who then woke up and resisted arrest. Back in 2013, Bonnar was an inductee into the Hall of Fame of the UFC.
Bonnar didn’t fight in UFC since 20114, and he reportedly went 8-6 during the seven years of his promotion. The native of Indiana has played a significant role in the growth of UFC into the making it the dominant development in MMA (Mixed Martial Arts).
Bonnar was one of the contestants back in 2005 on the first season of “The Ultimate Fighter,” the long-running reality show if the UFC. Bonnar also reached the finale of the competition’s first season where the former UFC fighter has an extraordinary brawl with another opponent called Forrest Griffin.
Griffin won the match with the decision. However, the viral attention that The Ultimate Fighter got was widely credited, and this exposed the sport to a broader audience.
