Josh Allen, the Buffalo Bills rookie quarterback was successfully able to take a couple of hits on Sunday but had to leave during the 3rd quarter of Sunday’s game due to an injured elbow.
Nathan Peterman took his position as a replacement and led the Bills to a touchdown drive before he again threw an interception which was returned by a 20-13 loss to the team Houston Texas. Allen went out in the third quarter late quarter. He appeared to suffer from the injury when the Houston Texans defenders Jadeveon Clowney, as well as Whitney Mercilus’ helmet, hit Allen’s right elbow.
Allen, however, continued to stay in the game and threw incomplete on the next play and was in obvious pain. But eventually, Allen went down and the athletic trainers came out to help him, and then he finally made an exit from the game.
Then Peterman entered and during the early fourth quarter. He returned 28 yards by the Texans cornerback Jonathan Joseph to being just a bad decision on a short pass made towards the sideline made for the wide receiver Kelvin Benjamin.
It is something that he will surely learn from, said Peterman said. He thought that there were just so many lessons for him to learn and get better from, he added.
Peterman has appeared in seven games, which includes the AFC wild-card playoff loss in the previous season as he was selected in the fifth round of the 2017 draft. He had thrown ten interceptions in these games, which includes five during the first half of his debut in November and two just before he was benched in the regular opener of the previous month for Allen.
Peterman gave a lead to the Bills by making a touchdown pass to Zay Jones in the fourth quarter. However, his awful pick-six in the last two minutes let the Texans off the hook.
