Detroit Cowboys consider untested kicker Brett Maher after releasing Dan Bailey

Brett Maher, Release of Dan bailey

It was and continues to remain difficult to understand entirely as to why the Dallas Cowboys had to release the second accurate kicker, Dan Bailey.

Bailey has indeed moved on by not playing well in a three field goal performance for the Minnesota Vikings in the Week 3 loss to the Los Angeles Rams. But, the Cowboys have discovered themselves 2-2 due to a brand new kicker who is actually on fire. The player we are talking about here is no one other than Brett Maher.

Maher had to miss out on his first career kick in the season opener held in California. However, since that time, Maher has completely been an outstanding player. As a matter of fact, since the time of that missed, one has seen Maher connect better on eight consecutive field goals, which includes the winner of the game against Detroit.

People say Maher kicked his extra point from the left hash when the Cowboys scored their second touchdown in the third quarter. Kickers get the option to decide where they wish to kick XPs from and as per that, Maher kicked the game-winning field goal which is quite interesting.

When the Cowboys elected Maher, people wanted to know the reason for it. They proposed Maher’s salary, big leg, and all another kind of reasons behind the decision but it seems like the ultimate reason is that he is just the best kicker which they feel will play up to his potential for this season.

This is not the first knock of any sort against Dan Bailey, but Brett Maher is indeed proving why the Cowboys had faith in him. Except for a Carolina rainy day, he is the perfect one on the season. So no matter who the kicker is, it is indeed a time to celebrate Maher.
